The Kiefer Creek Restoration Project is a project of the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, begun in 2009 when the creek's significant bacterial contamination was first brought to our attention. We quickly fell in love with Kiefer Creek - its clear flowing water, stunning natural watershed, and springs are a rare treasure for the St. Louis community.

The creek faces significant bacteria contamination, and it has recently started to feel the effects of urban development and the increased erosion, stormwater runoff, and nutrient loading that comes with the decrease in natural landscapes.

Thank you for your interest in the project. Please explore our website to learn more about the creek and how you can get involved.
